For this session, I believe that there is a lot of information and we could lose the main goal of the session, and by goal I mean the tool of expression that you are going to teach.
If the goal is to make them conscious about the different movement direction then maybe we need to start a warm up based on that without any cameras and then introduce the camera as a challenge to push them into dynamically applying what they learned and develop afterwards.
Let’s break it down into small activities:
Warm up based on direction, you can teach them a small choreography and start talking about directions (left, right, forward, backward and diagonal)
You can play with them and put some constraints as they develop their awareness of directions.
Since you want to ask them later to compose a phrase on 8 counts, explain also how you composed the dance you taught them on counts.
Then you can invite them to compose a phrase on 8 counts while asking them to be precise on the direction.
After that you can do the activity with the camera where you have two groups one doing their phrase and the other shooting them etc.
This way the camera activity will be really fun but based on a pedagogical theme related to dance
