من ويكي أضِف
This was one of a series of meetings with ADEF board members to discuss Deca and explore ideas of different stakeholders
Hany is a theatre director and a sports teacher
- important to include families esp if there is a problem
- deca as an open space - space for teachers and trainers to meet and learn. a rehearsal space for kids/actors/teachers. tweet nadwa
- importance of mentors. change mentors periodically. ideas for mentors to curate/manage the programme. hany placed big emphasis on mentors. the experience should help them develop. mentor chooses eg theme, and curates and has decision making role when approached by people/groups who want to rent parts of the space
- library needs staff
- building trust with young people over time - then can lend cameras and laptops
- in general do mixed girls and boys - but some exceptions
- young people back home 9/10pm
- when we asked him about the idea of a microbus, he suggested we don't provide transport for open unstructured work, but do provide it for structured sessions - perhaps 2 or 3 pick up spots
- on payment: not charge for workshops for young people. provide space for rent, but also perhaps allow people to pay in kind eg someone who uses the space could then provide a few workshops for free. but certain spaces eg community space are always open and never rented out
- beginners computer-workshops should be ongoing. everyone who uses the space - ie all 'friends' of the space - should know how to use a computer
- Talk to: Iman Darwishe - activist in area of culture - has a space in front of the ikhwan centre for cinema and music. Fatma Abed - married to Malek
